Cindy M. Sockey is the Operations Manager at Smucker Natural Foods, Inc. She has worked for Smucker’s for twenty five years in various capacities. She started her career with Smucker’s in Research & Development, and is responsible for developing products that continue to support the natural foods business for the company. She has held roles in Quality Assurance at both the plant and corporate levels, where she wrote, implemented and audited quality programs. She spent five years as a Contract Manufacturing Manager. From 2008-2011, Cindy served on Smucker’s Corporate Sustainability Task Force. In 2011, she moved to Chico, CA, and is currently the Operations Manager for the Smucker’s plant in Chico. In her current role, Cindy saw the opportunity to recognize the plant’s journey toward zero waste, which had been in progress since 1999. She worked with USZWBC to achieve Platinum certification for the Chico plant, and to introduce the rest of the Smucker plants in the U.S. to the certification process. She has obtained certification from HACCP: Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points and S., Food Science & Technology, University of California at Davis as well as received training from Supplier & Industry Analysis.
