SG pic bw resized 146x144Stephen Groner is the founder and president of S. Groner Associates (SGA) a marketing firm that designs communications specifically targeting environmental issues. Now in the firm’s 15th year, the firm has become the 8th largest independent pr/marketing agency in Los Angeles and has recently opened a second office in the San Francisco Bay area. The firms has received many honors for its work including the prestigious Silver Anvil award from the Public Relations Society of America for the best public service campaign in the country for a project with the US EPA.

An environmental engineer by training, Mr. Groner and his firm bring a unique mix of creativity and data driven analytics to developing environmental communication campaigns. Mr. Groner also is very activity in the community and serves on the board of two other non-profits, Friends of Ballona Wetlands (a conservation group dedicated to preserving the largest remaining urban wetlands in California) and Social Venture Partners (an organization aimed at bringing entrepreneurial ideas to non-profit organizations to help them grow). Learn more about SGA atwww.sga-inc.net

Corey.ScholiboCorey Scholibo is a veteran of the marketing and public relations industries. He has handled public relations and strategic marketing for brands such as Tiffany & Co., MAC Cosmetics, James Perse Enterprises, SKYY Vodka, Indiegogo, Discovery Networks, and IFC among others. Scholibo opened James Perse’s first three retail outlets in Los Angeles, New York and Malibu and helped turn a direct to distributor t-shirt business into a fashion empire with multiple distribution models. In 2006, he launched Tiffany & Co.’s Frank Gehry line, the most successful collaboration for the luxury brand in its history. In 2003, he helped launch the SKYY Vodka short film program, a marketing strategy that was later copied by companies like BMW, Perrier and DKNY.

Scholibo has worked at large firms like Rogers & Cowan and boutique companies, such as ID Public Relations; in addition to his corporate work, he has handled public relations for actors Owen Wilson, Ben Stiller and his production company Red Hour Films, Eric Idle, Patrick Stewart, Woody Harrelson, Cynthia Nixon and Rachel Weisz. Scholibo’s Oscar campaign for Weisz’s role in The Constant Gardner resulted in wins at the Golden Globe Awards, SAG Awards and the Academy Awards. Scholibo also spearheaded a successful Tony campaign for Nixon resulting in an award for her 2006 role in Rabbit Hole.

Scholibo got his start in marketing in the entertainment and branding industries working in product placement on such films as Driven, starring Sylvester Stallone, The Pledge, starring Jack Nicholson, andAngel Eyes, starring Jennifer Lopez. For the last three years, Scholibo has been the Arts & Entertainment Editor of The Advocate, the nation’s leading LGBT newsmagazine, where he has helped revive a 40-year-old brand through two redesigns and has handled the magazine’s marketing and public relations. Scholibo was nominated for a GLAAD award in 2007 for his feature article on marine veteran Jeff Key.

Jeff began his career in the service industry on a truck with Arrowhead Mountain Spring Water where he earned Top Route Salesman of The Year, before going on to serve as Marketing Manager. Jeff then spent 20 years in the uniform rental service industry managing companies and business regions for Cintas Corporation and Prudential Overall Supply, the nations’ largest publicly held and largest privately held uniform companies respectively.

Jeff Snow received his Masters of Business Administration from Thunderbird School of Global Management where he also earned certificates from studies at Écoledu Commerce in Paris, France and in Berlin, Germany. He earned his Bachelors Degree in Business from California State University, Dominguez Hills.

rasham grewal200pxoRasham Grewal heads Marketing and Public Relations at USAgain (pronounced use-again), a leading textiles recycling company. She has been with the company for seven years and has also served as an Environmental Commissioner for two years for the city of West Chicago.

Rasham has pioneered digital and social marketing in the recycling industry. Her marketing efforts are focused in two key areas. One, in sharing at a wider scale the success stories we all witness in our local communities, many of which USAgain has partnered in. And two, expanding the reach of the overall marketing message through partnerships with other green-conscious companies outside the industry.

Besides trying to protect the globe, she loves traveling around it too and has been to over 25 countries across 4 continents so far. Her passion towards Zero Waste has grown through observing and learning innovative recycling practices in Europe and Asia.

rachel resizedRachel Dowd is a media specialist at S. Groner Associates. She uses her experience as a former journalist and branding professional to craft integrated campaigns for clients such as the City of Los Angeles Stormwater Program, the County of Santa Barbara and Natural Resources Defense Council.
Before joining SGA, Rachel worked as a writer, editor and creative content provider, helping individuals and brands develop a vibrant identity via digital marketing and social media platforms. In addition, she wrote branded copy for magazines and books and promoted brands in local and national media. Prior to that, Rachel was a magazine journalist, writing for national and regional publications, including Natural Health, the Los Angeles Times, Variety and Vegetarian Times.
